FAQS

Expedition members need to have a reasonable level of fitness. You should be able to walk 6-7 hours for several days in a row.

The altitude of Everest Basecamp can never be underestimated and affects different people in different ways.

To limit the effects of altitude, we schedule rest days in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche to allow for better acclimatisation.

If you are concerned about your response to altitude you should talk to your GP about drugs such as Diamox.

We use top-rated local tea houses on route for accommodation, since they offer improved recovery after a long day's hiking compared to tented camps.

Food in Nepal, and especially in the high mountains, is relatively simple. Even so, we ensure it's plentiful, so you can recoup the calories you're burning. For breakfast, dishes include pancakes, eggs and porridge. Rice, pasta, and noodles with curry are popular for lunch and dinner, although pizza does also make an appearance.

Please let us know when you book if you have any dietary requirements, so we can alter meals accordingly.

As you might expect from the world's highest mountain, temperatures can drop below zero. Accommodation is well kitted out with blankets and all you'll need to keep warm, while the kit list we supply will ensure you stay fit and well while trekking.
